STAghetti Success

March 3rd saw the STA cafeteria transformed into a bustling restaurant as the first ever STAghetti dinner took place.  The dinner was held to help raise funds for STA students traveling to the Dominican Republic this April.  The dinner featured some student and staff entertainment, door and raffle prizes, and of course a delicious meal.

DR HOPE

The funds collected were put towards the building costs of a home in the Dominican.  Through STA’s DR HOPE mission trip, Aquinas will be a part of helping an impoverished family build a home.  Students are still required to cover their own travel costs.  The 13 students and 2 teachers traveling from April 8 - 13 will be staying in a small village outside of San Jose De Ocoa.  They will be working alongside the family they are helping, as well as expanding their view of the world.

The dinner was a great success with almost 300 guests split between the evenings two sittings.  The guests were served by the students on the trip acting as wait staff.  Mrs. Trapani and Mrs. Cooper graciously volunteered their services as chefs for the dinner.  The reviews from those in attendance were positive as our chefs prepared a fantastic meal.  Guests that were able to come away with a door or raffle prize were especially happy at the end of the night
