On Thursday, November 26th, come join in the annual Oomama Dinner, an African themed meal celebrating grandparents. Hosted by Quad 1 of the STA PJs, proceeds will support Oomama, a branch of the Steven Lewis Foundation. The goal of Oomama is to support grandmothers in Africa who are struggling to take care of their grandchildren that have lost parents to HIV/AIDS. Founded in 2005 by a small group of women, the name “Oomama” translates to “our mothers” in Zulu. Come join us for an evening of live entertainment and a delicious African meal prepared and served by the PJs. Feel free to bring anyone who can come- grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles- all are welcome! Tickets are for sale for $15 during 3rd and 4th lunches this week and next. As said by Stephen Lewis himself: “Even the most basic help will bring solace and hope.”
